The stimulus check plans have gone through the Biden administration. Congressional Democrats are going ahead with relief packages of 1400 USD.
An all democrat Congress and presidency will move quickly for another stimulus package of up to up to $1,400. “I’m going to act, and I’m going to act fast,” Biden said on Friday after meeting with House Democrats on his $1.9 trillion American Relief Plan. “We need an answer that meets the challenge of this crisis.”
The Senate approved the funding for President Joe’s plan early Friday morning. The House followed suit later in the afternoon. Afterwards the bill will be drafted so that Congress can cast their votes on it. To speed the process, the blue party are planning on avoiding any possible legal hurdles through budget reconciliation . This will allow them to approve Biden’s proposal without having the GOP cooperation.
According to POTUS: “I’m not cutting the size of the checks” Biden said Friday. “They will be $1,400, period. That’s what the American people were promised.” The administration did report however that is open to “targeted” packages in order to exclude higher income demographics. If approved, Biden’s initiate will also fund federal , state, local and tribal governments concerning unemployment insurance or financial assistance.
A $1,400 third stimulus payment, but to less people?
As part of the stimulus check update, democrats have proposed a 1400 USD check. When you add the figure to the previously sent out 600 USD at the end of last year, amounts to a grand total of 2000 USD. This amount is still , and has been , subjected for debate for some figures in Washington DC.
POTUS and Congress might fiddle with the requirements for the third check by lowering the income cap on who qualifies for a payment. Biden stated Friday that people making 300.000 USD or more wouldn’t be on the target of the stimulus program.
Didn’t 10 Senate Republicans propose a package, also?
With thin margins in the Senate and House, Biden disclosed he prefers to pass a new stimulus package. He prefers support from both parties, which is why he met with the Senate Republicans on Monday. But Biden was eager to see a bill passed quickly. And on Wednesday, he stressed during a meeting with Congressional Democrats now is the time to “go big, not small” on a relief package, The Hill reported.
The GOP framework would set out to $600bn for vaccine and financial assistance. The plan was to include $1000 USD checks for families and individuals. The income qualifications were set at $50.000 for individuals and double that for families. The republican plan, although in alignment with Biden’s plans for vaccine research and distribution relief, cut funding for state and local governments. It also envisions shortening the period of time while people without a job could receive federal assistance.
